Thirty years between two vocations: teaching people to speak, and teaching them to write.
With over three decades of experience spanning academia and the edutech industry, I have spent twenty six of those years as a Professor of English in an engineering college, shaping the communication, critical thinking and global outlook of thousands of students. Alongside that work I now serve as Director of Operations at an edutech publishing company, where I lead content development, academic strategy and product innovation.
A Gold Medalist in English, my academic foundation has always been rooted in excellence, discipline and a deep love for language and literature. My teaching emphasises clarity of expression, analytical depth and practical application. In engineering education I work to bridge the gap between technical knowledge and effective communication, so that students are not only academically proficient but genuinely ready for the world.
I believe a good teacher inspires, but a great teacher empowers others to teach. That conviction guides my work as a Trainer of Trainers, mentoring educators and corporate trainers in teaching methodology, communication strategy and learner engagement.
It began not in a lecture hall but in pharmaceuticals. The turn towards language came at thirty, and it never turned back.
The first career. Field sales and clinical detailing, learning how to explain a complicated thing to a busy listener, which turned out to be the whole of teaching.
Led teams of medical service representatives towards their targets in a fiercely competitive market. Management before academia.
The turn. Teaching English to university grade students, with regular assessment and evaluation of student capability.
Senior grades eleven and twelve, with seminars built around concept oriented learning.

A book lies forgotten in a dusty corner while a lit screen glows across the room, and it begins to speak. Forty one pieces written in the book's own voice, part poem and part appeal, turning on a single conviction: books live only while they are in our hands, and when they are abandoned they do not die, they wait. The refrain running through it is an invitation, open me just once and look.

Beyond the institutional roles there is a writer who never stopped writing. The poems reach for nature and her five elements; the columns and blog posts reach for language, learning, society and the self. Photography came later, and for the same reason as the poetry: to hold on to something the words alone could not carry.
